Will Spicebird remain Free and Open Source?

The short answer is - Yes! thats a promise.

The Spicebird source code is released under the same license terms as the Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird source code. We did that not as an obligation, but to make sure that all our work can go upstream without much trouble with the licenses.

Spicebird would be an open source project in it's true sense. The community will be involved in decision making and in the development of this project. We welcome contributions from the user and developer community in the form of feedback, bug reports and patches.

Blackberry & PDA syncing

I love this Spicebird program... but there's just one thing that's stopping me from diving into it completely... "Blackberry"

I've love it if Spicebird could sync to a Blackberry or PDA's. That'd be sooooooooooooooo awesome. For Mac AND PC (I use PC at home and Mac at work)

Free/Busy Integration

Love this app -- awesome work gang.

Would be great to integrate the following plugin that allows for free/busy URLs to be obtained from a contact's LDAP profile: http://www.inverse.ca/english/contributions/sogo_connector.html
The plugin was developed for Thunderbird and works fine (I've tested it) -- so should be somewhat plug-and-playish...

cheers

Not Too Sure About Compiling, But it Runs...

I haven't compiled the project, but I'm currently running it on Windows XP 64bit Edition without issue.

How does Synovel earn revenue from the project ?

I am glad the project will continue to be open source, but how do you fund your development operations ?
Great work guys ;)

Awsome (as in inspiring awe, not just hyperbole)

Spicebird has already replaced Thunderbird and Lightning for me and it took me a long time to get comfortable with them. I'm changing my companies' email infrastructure to use google and will be rolling out Spicebird in the next few months. Kudos on a kickarse project.

Good to know this prasad.
