When we set course for 0.7 release, the major objective was to include support for multi-protocol Instant Messaging, blogging and many other changes to the UI & features. Prasad already gave an update about this. We had to take unexplored paths and sometimes we were not be able to guage how deep the rabbit hole was. It sure did take a huge effort, but after solving the challenges, we have been running smoothly for quite sometime now. For the purpose of numbers, 108 bugs were fixed in the last month.
We request all the Spicebird lovers to be a little more patient. Please be assured that when we do not have any updates, it just means we are working harder to get Spicebird into a better shape for you.
All the bugs to be fixed before 0.7 release are marked as blocking-0.7 on our bugzilla. The moment this count goes to zero, 0.7 will be out. As I write, the count is 52.

Installed Spicebird last week on the recommendation of "The Bangkok Post" newspaper (Database section) and it looks to be just what I am looking for. I am sick of Outlook 2007 and have been looking for a full function replacement for ages. As I can't yet import all my messages from Outlook I am still running both programs but hope to switch over as soon as you have fixed this with 0.7.
On this I saw (somewhere) that it was due out on 20th November but still have not been able to download it. Do you have a further update as I noticed the bug count was down to only 7.

in my opinion it is important to fix how it imports emails messages from Outlook 2007: in my experience it imports the complete structure (the folders and subfolders) but no one message.

Is there an auto-update option in spicebird? or do you have to download manually the installer?

Keep up the good work guys, I can wait a few more days to get a stable build. Looking forward to the last build and glad to hear that you rather delay the release than put out a buggy program like M$ does.

Anyway thanks for the news and please keep us updated! I almost considered switching to Evolution when you didn't keep up the scheduled release in June and didn't post anything on the official blog for months. Unsatisifed I decided to stick with Spicebird nevertheless, as it's better even in Beta-state.
Keep up the good work and let's hope for a release in the very near future
