The pre-release excitement

The past couple of weeks have been really exciting time for Synovel.
The kind of response we have been witnessing ever since we posted a
video of our 0.3 alpha version - has been overwhelming. The responses
include suggestions for improvement, volunteering for contribution,
apart from applauds and appreciation.

But with the applauds also comes a responsibility. Responsibility to
deliver to the expectations of the open source community of
developers and users. We at Synovel are aware of this responsibility
and are working full throttle towards releasing what ever we have now,
very soon.

Your suggestions and contributions will keep us motivated and will be of immense help in evolving Spicebird into a comprehensive collaboration platform. Keep your suggestions pouring in.

Outlook Killer has awaken

I dropped Outlook about 3 years ago; I went to Thunderbird. I found Thunderbird to do everything I need it to do, via the extensions, and then some. I just saw an article from LifeHacker and the review/comments on it. I'm very impressed. I like the tabbed email (last week, last month, etc..) those were good.

I really like the concept, tying all the needs of a contact manager in to one (like Outlook), but will this program fully support the extensions that Thunderbird uses? I think that's the only way to stay on top of the game...

I mean, what you've done is concatenated all the best/essential functions and bonded them together to one program, but ideally you want accept new functions/features and integrate them as they present themselves as 'must haves'.

I applaud your work and hope you keep with your goals.

Thanks,
LHenry

Impressive

Just watched the 0.3alpha video. Looks impressive. It seems to have every feature, I have seen in the current popular collaboration suites but also has some nice extra features I would love to see in a collaboration suite. The drag-drop of applets/weblets ala google portlets is quite nice. Keep up the good work guys.
