Synovel Desktop Suite
An integrated client suite provides access to various components of collaboration viz email, calendaring, instant messaging. These individual components integrate and interact with others to provide a seamless collaboration platform. A free and open source version of our desktop client suite, Spicebird, is available for download.
Multi-Platform
The client suite works on multiple platforms viz. windows, Linux and Mac. This makes it a good fit for enterprises that use heterogeneous desktop OS environments and provides 100% compatibility. This frees organizations from being bound to a particular OS for their collaboration needs and can help reduce OS licensing costs.
Dashboard
A dashboard provides your the necessary information from various tools in the suite in a single view to present an over view of the things happening by providing you snippets of information from various services. For example, an Agenda applet pulls data from you calendars to present your Agenda for the day. A Folder view applet shows a snapshot of mails in the a chosen folder. An RSS Feed applet lists the feed items and shows the content preview from a configured feed source. A Google applet lets you add any iGoogle applet into it to give you information on various web services related to maps, weather, news etc. Each Applet is very simple, yet highly customizable on what it should show and where.
Integrated Instant messaging
Integration of Instant messaging(IM) into the suite provides you instant information about the availability status of people from any place in the suite where you find an email id. You can view previous chat logs of a contact that helps you build a context around any email or chat communication.
Extensible
The platform on which Spicebird is built, allows easy extension and customization of the software. Hence modify the behavior and adding new tools can be done with minimal of effort. This makes the platform ideal to address the discrete needs of any enterprise who would want some of their surrounding business applications to integrate/interact with the collaboration application for better productivity.
